LOS ANGELES, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- The first teaser trailer for the upcoming season of Hannibal finds Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) being chased by his friend turned foe Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).
The show's third season is scheduled for a summer premiere on NBC and will also see the return of Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson), Dr. Frederick Chilton (Raúl Esparza) and Mason Verger (Michael Pitt will be replaced by Joe Anderson).
According to Variety the new season will also feature new characters from Thomas Harris' Red Dragon novel and an important time jump during episode eight.
NBC's Hannibal was developed by Bryan Fuller based on Harris' novel and follows the flourishing relationship between the derranged forensic psychiatrist Hannibal Lacter and FBI special investigator Will Graham.
