Ian McShane joins the Season 3 cast of 'Ray Donovan'

The 12-episode third season is to begin production Jan. 26 in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Deadwood veteran Ian McShane is to guest star in a season-long arc of the drama series Ray Donovan, Showtime announced.

McShane will play Malcolm Finney, a "prominent movie producer and billionaire who hires Ray to get his family out of a potentially catastrophic situation, eventually forming a very powerful relationship with one another," the cable network said in a synopsis.

Season 3 of the fixer drama -- starring Liev Schreiber as the title character -- will include 12 episodes. Production is to resume Jan. 26 in Los Angeles.

McShane will next star as a corrupt judge in Bolden and opposite Patrick Wilson in The Man on Carrion Road.

His other film credits include Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Hercules, Cuban Fury, Jack the Giant Slayer, Scoop, Sexy Beast, and Snow White and the Huntsman.
