Debra Messing, Eric McCormack to reunite on 'The Mysteries of Laura'

The pair previously co-starred as Will Truman and Grace Adler on "Will & Grace."

NEW YORK, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Debra Messing and Eric McCormack will reunite on an upcoming episode of The Mysteries of Laura.

The 46-year-old actress and 51-year-old actor portrayed the title characters on NBC sitcom Will & Grace for eight seasons. McCormack will guest star as Dr. Andrew Devlin, a heart surgeon and ex-fiancé to Laura Diamond (Messing).

The comedy-drama follows Laura as she balances her work as an NYPD detective with parenting two young sons. Sparks fly when she is forced to investigate Andrew after he becomes the prime suspect in his ex-wife's murder.

The Mysteries of Laura premiered on NBC in September 2014, and received a full-season pickup in October. Josh Lucas also stars as Laura's ex-husband and new boss, Captain Jake Broderick, with Laz Alonso as Laura's partner, Detective Billy Soto.

McCormack went on to portray Mason McGuire on TNT drama Trust Me, and Max Kershaw on CBS sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine. He also voiced Lucky on animated series Pound Puppies, and currently stars as Dr. Daniel Pierce on TNT crime drama Perception.
