Sarah Silverman lands comedy pilot on HBO

The actress previously appeared on "Mr. Show" and "The Larry Sanders Show" on the network.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Sarah Silverman has landed a new comedy pilot at HBO.

The 44-year-old actress will star as "a pathologically honest" woman experiencing a mid-life crisis. Secret Diary of a Call Girl creator Lucy Prebble will write the script and co-executive produce the series with Silverman.

Silverman previously appeared on HBO sketch comedy show Mr. Show with Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad) and David Cross (Arrested Development), and on the network's sitcom The Larry Sanders Show.

Silverman came to fame on NBC series Saturday Night Live, and subsequently starred on her own Comedy Central show, The Sarah Silverman Program. The actress most recently portrayed Helen on Showtime period drama Masters of Sex.
