LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter took to Twitter to address the season finale plot leak over the weekend.

The Sons of Anarchy: The Official Collector's Edition book was mistakenly released early by several distributors and book outlets last week. Some fans who received copies posted spoilers about the final episode of the series online, causing "a storyteller's worst nightmare" for Sutter.

"It was my idea for the book, so ultimately, I am to blame," he tweeted Friday. "So if you received a book, I apologize. I ask that you not share your wrath or pain or opinion in social media so as to not spoil the experience of others ... It pains me that this will be the parting memory of some fans."

Sutter followed up Sunday by saying there had been no resolution with the show's parent company over the leak. He admitted his impulse was to disappear in frustration about the situation, but said he, star Charlie Hunnam and others will still appear on special Anarchy Afterword after the finale.

"I woke up this morning to a text by Tommy Flanagan that reminded me once again, it's not just about me," he wrote. "This is not my show, this is your show ... I hope folks tune in for the finale. I'm very proud of it. I'll be on the aftershow with Charlie and the cast to try and close this ride with some dignity and gratitude."

Sons of Anarchy debuted on FX in September 2008. The series ran for seven seasons, and will air its final episode Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. ET. Anarchy Afterword will be broadcast immediately after the finale.
