True Detective season two will take place in California, and follow Ani Bezzerides (McAdams), an ethical but troubled sheriff's detective, Ray Velcoro (Farrell), a compromised detective beholden to a mobster, Frank Semyon (Vaughn), a career criminal whose business partner is murdered, Paul Woodrugh (Kitsch), a war veteran and motorcycle officer and Jordan Woodrugh (Reilly), Frank's wife and a former D-list actress.

True Detective premiered on HBO in January. The series follows an anthology format, so season one stars Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson and Michelle Monaghan will not return. Season two is scheduled to debut in 2015, and will reportedly not be as dark as the first season.
