UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- USA Network says it has ordered a television pilot called Evil Men, which will star Dallas Roberts and Clifton Collins Jr.

The CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions drama was created by writer and executive producer Daniel Taplitz. Gary Fleder, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, and Mary Beth Basile also serve as executive producers.

"This supernatural drama is a symbolic tale of good versus evil set in the everyday modern world," Jackie de Crinis, executive vice president of original programming for USA Network, said in a statement Wednesday. "It is a highly relatable story that begs the question of just how far we would go to protect our families."

The potential series will "follow an upstanding, middle-class family man whose life is turned upside-down when he is approached by a frighteningly powerful entity and commanded to kill 'evil men' or see his family -- along with his city -- utterly destroyed," a synopsis said. "However, the gleeful psycho who is meant to be his first target, instead begins teaching him how to carry out his new destiny."
