SILVER SPRING, Md., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- The star of the classic family sitcom Roseanne has been tapped to host the docu-series Momsters: When Moms Go Bad, Investigation Discovery announced.

Roseanne Barr's latest effort on the small screen "uncovers a bizarre world where mothers will do anything for their children's happiness," a news release said.

"From the little league mama who stalks and threatens her son's coach to the pageant parent who will stop at nothing to get her daughter the crown, these mothers are not afraid to cross boundaries and get their hands dirty."

The show is to premiere Nov. 28 on the cable TV network.

"These 'momsters' find themselves knee-deep in schemes so sordid and unexpected that the only way out is to keep going. You will laugh at the inherent humor of these situations just as often as you gasp at the shock of their crimes," says Henry Schleiff, group president of Investigation Discovery, Destination America, American Heroes Channel, Discovery Family Channel and Discovery Fit & Health. "Roseanne acts as the mother of all meltdowns in her uniquely sarcastic tone while telling the stories of the many women who give Mommie Dearest a run for her money."
