"Mark and I feel passionate about providing projects that show people's lives in positive and uplifting ways," she said in a statement. "This is wonderful opportunity to work with TLC and host a series that will inspire and encourage viewers to remember that even in the worst circumstances prayers can lead to divine intervention."

Downey and Burnett previously collaborated on The Bible miniseries for the History channel. The 10-hour series was viewed over 100 million times, and adapted as feature film Son of God. Burnett has executive produced such shows as Survivor, The Apprentice and The Voice.

Downey is best known for her role as Monica on CBS series Touched by an Angel. The actress and Burnett are currently producing NBC miniseries A.D. and a remake of Ben-Hur.
