'NCIS: New Orleans' cast walk the red carpet at series premiere

The event took place at the National WWI Museum in New Orleans.

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The NCIS: New Orleans cast walked the red carpet at the series premiere Wednesday.

The event took place at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, and executive producers Gary Glasberg and Jeffrey Lieber were also in attendance. Scott Bakula will portray NCIS Special Agent in Charge Dwayne Cassius Pride on the series, with Lucas Black as NCIS Senior Special Agent Christopher LaSalle, Zoe McLellan as NCIS Special Agent Meredith "Merri" Brody, C.C.H. Pounder as medical examiner Dr. Loretta Wade and Rob Kerkovich as lab assistant Sebastian Voll.

Pride, LaSalle and Brody were introduced in season 11 episodes 18 and 19 of parent series NCIS. NCIS: New Orleans is the second spinoff inspired by the show; NCIS: Los Angeles premiered in 2009 and will debut a sixth season September 29. NCIS itself is a spinoff of navy legal drama JAG, which ran from 1995 to 2005 on NBC and CBS.

NCIS: New Orleans will premiere September 23 on CBS.
