Ellen Pompeo posts 'Orange is the New Black'-inspired photo

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Ellen Pompeo showed her love for Orange is the New Black on Thursday.

The 44-year-old actress posted a photo of herself and her Grey's Anatomy co-stars doing their best impression of the prison drama's characters. Pompeo and her cast mates wear blue scrubs in the picture, and she captioned the snapshot, "Blue is the new black," accordingly.

Orange is the New Black debuted on Netflix in 2013, and will return for a third season in June 2015. The series follows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) as she serves a 15-month sentence in a women's federal prison.

Pompeo will return as Meredith Grey for an 11th season of Grey's Anatomy on September 23. The actress is under contract through season 13, but has expressed her desire to quit acting once the ABC medical drama comes to an end.
