'General Hospital' recasts iconic role of Jason Morgan with Billy Miller

Miller is a three-time Daytime Emmy Award-winner best known for his work on "The Young and the Restless" and "All My Children."

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Billy Miller is taking over the iconic role of Jason Morgan on General Hospital.

Frank Valentini, the soap opera's executive producer, announced the news Tuesday.

Miller is a three-time Daytime Emmy Award-winner best known for his work on The Young and the Restless and All My Children. "I am really excited to be working with such a talented and acclaimed actor as Billy," Valentini said in a statement. "Our cast is thrilled that he will be joining our General Hospital family, and I know that he will be an amazing addition to our talented cast." Morgan, the right-hand man to mob boss Sonny Corinthos, has been presumed dead since 2012, but his body was never found.

Steve Burton played the character from 1991 to 2012. The actor can now be seen on Y&R.
