'Schoolhouse Rock' special to air on ABC Sept. 7

The classic cartoons featuring songs like "Three is a Magic Number," "Electricity, Electricity," "The Energy Blues," "Unpack Your Adjectives" and "Conjunction Junction" aired on Saturday mornings in the 1970s.

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Grey's Anatomy star Chandra Wilson is to host a television special called The ABC's of Schoolhouse Rock next month.

The one-hour program will celebrate the classic 1970s Saturday morning cartoons that taught history, math, science and grammar.

The special is scheduled to air Sept. 7 on ABC. It will also include interviews with some of the cartoons' creators and writers.

"The ABC's of Schoolhouse Rock will celebrate the pop-culture phenomenon and pay tribute to the beloved songs that rocked their way into American hearts over 40 years ago," ABC said in a news release.
