NEW YORK, July 1 (UPI) -- Denis Leary's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll will air on FX in 2015.

The network has ordered ten episodes of the new comedy series, which stars Leary as middle-aged rocker Johnny Rock. Rock was once a successful musician, but drugs and alcohol contributed to his downward spiral. Twenty-five years later, he is ready to get his life and his band back together.

Leary previously starred in Rescue Me for seven seasons on FX, and will executive produce Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll. Jim Serpico, who co-owns media company Apostle with Leary, will co-executive produce the program.

"It's great to be back in business with Denis Leary, Jim Serpico and [Rescue Me co-executive producer] Tom Sellitti," FX original programming president Eric Schrier said. "We're thrilled to start on a new project that is both unique and hilarious. Johnny Rock is the role that Denis Leary was born to play."

"I am extremely elated at the opportunity to once again be working with John Landgraf and the fine executive talent over at FX. They have a great platform for comedy, an award-winning marketing team and an amazing new Nespresso machine in the conference," Leary quipped.
