The deal will see the 39-year-old actor and producer develop a new pilot, and continue viral video series Ridiculousness and cooking competition Snack-Off. He will also revive his reality show Fantasy Factory for a seventh season, despite its cancellation earlier this year.
Dyrdek first partnered with MTV on Rob & Big in 2006. His projects at the network often overlap with his career as a professional skateboarder, and he owns the production company Super Jacket with Fantasy Factory co-producer Shane Nickerson.
"MTV has been a great partner over the years," he said in a statement. "I'm truly grateful for the platform they've provided me to create and refine compelling, entertaining media at the highest level. This next chapter will allow myself, Shane Nickerson and the rest of the Super Jacket team to scale our style of production, inspiring people and making them laugh. We look forward to continually delivering amazing content for years to come."
"Rob Dyrdek is an essential part of MTV," programming president Susanne Daniels lauded. "He is a creative force with a unique ability to connect with the audience, whether he is in front of or behind the camera. We are truly thrilled to continue our long and successful relationship with Rob."
New seasons of Ridiculousness and Snack-Off premiere July 10 at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m, respectively.
