LOS ANGELES, May 29 (UPI) -- HBO has greenlighted new Danny McBride series Vice Principals.

The 37-year-old actor previously starred on the network in Eastbound & Down from 2009 to 2013. He will return in Vice Principals as a high school second-in-command, who works with his colleagues to keep the school and its students under control. McBride has reunited with Eastbound & Down creator Jody Hill for the show.

"Danny McBride and Jody Hill have created a smart, rowdy and unpredictable style of comedy that we can't get enough of," HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo says. "The idea of them setting their minds on high school was irresistible."

The premium cable channel has ordered 18 initial episodes of the series. The episodes are expected to be split into multiple seasons.
