'Girl Meets World' gets premiere date

The show finds Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga Matthews, the parents of 12-year-old Riley and her younger brother August.

LOS ANGELES, May 2 (UPI) -- The anticipated Boy Meets World spinoff Girl Meets World will premiere on the small screen on July 27.

The Disney channel made the announcement Tuesday along with the first full-lengh trailer for the series.

Girl Meets World finds Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga Matthews, the parents of 12-year-old Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and her younger brother August.

The show will center on Riley as she "faces life lessons though her family, friends and school, as her parents did when they were younger."

The series will premiere on Friday July 27 at 9:45 p.m. on the Disney Channel.
