LOS ANGELES, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- About 28.5 million viewers in the United States tuned in for Sunday night's Grammy Awards ceremony, CBS announced Monday.

Last year's edition of the event, which honors the best in music, was seen by 28.4 million.

Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" was named Best Album of 2013 during Sunday's ceremony. The show also featured memorable performances by former Beatles band mates Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney and married superstars Beyonce and Jay Z.

Another highlight of the evening was when Queen Latifah officiated the weddings of 33 couples in the audience, while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis sang their hit, "Same Love," which Madonna joined mid-song.
