Seth Meyers to be replaced by Colin Jost as 'Weekend Update' anchor

NEW YORK, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- "Saturday Night Live" head writer Colin Jost is to take over for Seth Meyers as the New York sketch comedy show's "Weekend Update" co-anchor, Deadline.com said.

Meyers is leaving to replace Jimmy Fallon as host of "Late Night," while Fallon is to take over for Jay Leno as "Tonight Show" emcee.

Deadline.com said Jost will start sharing the "Weekend Update" desk with current co-anchor Cecily Strong March 1.
