Andy Samberg, 'Brooklyn Nine Nine' win Golden Globes

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- The freshman police sitcom "Brooklyn Nine Nine" was declared the Best TV Comedy Series at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Its star Andy Samberg, a former "Saturday Night Live" veteran, earned the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series earlier in the evening.

"Oh, no! I didn't prepare anything. It wasn't going to happen," a surprised Samberg said before thanking his co-stars, the show's writers, his management team and his wife, musician Joanna Newsom.
