LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- The animated series "Sofia the First," "Doc McStuffins" and "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" have been renewed, U.S. cable network Disney Junior said.

The announcement about the pre-school programs' renewals was made Wednesday by Nancy Kanter, executive vice president of original programming and general manager of Disney Junior Worldwide.

Ordered for third seasons are "Sofia the First," which follows the adventures of Disney's first little girl princess, and "Doc McStuffins," which is about a 6-year-old girl who runs a clinic for her stuffed animals and toys.

"Jake and the Never Land Pirates," which features a crew of kid pirates alongside classic "Peter Pan" characters Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, has received an order for a fourth season.
