NEW YORK, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Katie Couric announced Thursday her syndicated talk show, "Katie," which tapes in New York, will end in June after two seasons.

"We're very proud of everyone's contributions to making 'Katie' the No. 1 new syndicated talk show of 2012-13 and we look forward to the rest of the season," Couric and ABC/Disney said in a joint statement.

The Hollywood Reporter said the show was canceled because its ratings didn't justify its production costs.

Couric is to start a new job as the global anchor for Yahoo! early next year.
