Josh Gad to star in big-screen version of 'Gilligan's Island'

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Josh Gad is to star in and co-write a film adaptation of the classic shipwreck sitcom "Gilligan's Island," the Hollywood Reporter said.

The movie about seven people stranded on a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean is being developed by Warner Bros., and Lloyd and Ross Schwartz, the children of "Gilligan's Island" creator Sherwood Schwartz, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said Tuesday.

Gad is known for his work in the Broadway musical "The Book of Morman," TV's "The Daily Show" and the animated blockbuster, "Frozen."
