NEW YORK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- A New York judge has sentenced French-Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin to six months in jail for stalking actor Alec Baldwin.

Sabourin was found guilty in Manhattan Criminal Court Thursday of stalking and harassing Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria.

Sabourin was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days behind bars on a contempt of court charge after she repeatedly interrupted her trial.

The actress claimed she and Baldwin were involved in a romantic relationship, but the actor insisted he only ever met with her to give her career advice.

"She's not a tough person," her friend, producer Martin Bregman, told the New York Daily News. "She's not going to last at Rikers. She thinks it's going to help her career. I believe that's what she thinks. She's famous now. It's a hell of a way to get there, kid."
