Gigi Edgley to host 'Jim Henson's Creature Shop'

NEW YORK, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Australian actress, singer and comic-book creator Gigi Edgley is to serve as host of the competition series, "Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge," Syfy said.

"As host of the series, Edgley is charged with introducing each week's challenge to the group of contestants," the cable network said in a news release, adding Edgley is well-known for her work on The Jim Henson Company's science-fiction series, "Farscape."

Henson Company Chairman Brian Henson, creature fabricator Beth Hathaway and creature designer Kirk Thatcher will be the judges of "Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge," which is to premiere early next year.

The contestants will compete for a prize worth $100,000, including the opportunity for a contract working at Jim Henson's Creature Shop, Syfy said.
