Netflix sets Dec. 13 return for 'Lilyhammer,' starring Van Zandt

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Season 2 of the Norway-set series "Lilyhammer," starring Steven Van Zandt, will premiere Dec. 13, Netflix announced Wednesday.

All eight new episodes of the one-hour series -- about a mob fixer who enters the witness protection program in Lillehammer -- will be available for Netflix members to stream that day in the United States, Canada and Latin America.

"The second season of 'Lilyhammer' is an amped-up ride that gives us Steven Van Zandt at his glorious, baddest, best," Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix, said in a statement Wednesday. "Whether you enjoyed Season 1 or are catching it for the first time, 'Lilyhammer' is a mob show like no other."
