'Charmed' to get reboot by CBS

Oct. 27, 2013 at 11:41 AM

HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- CBS is working on a re-imagining of the WB witch series "Charmed," Vulture reported.

The network gave a script commitment to Chris Keyser and Sydney Sidner just as witches are poised to overtake the small screen in the likes of FX's "American Horror Story: Coven" and Lifetime's "Witches of East End," The Hollywood Reporter said.

"Party of Five" co-creator Keyser and Sidner are set to co-executive produce the reboot of the Aaron Spelling drama about four sisters who use witchcraft to battle evil.

The original series starred Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan and ran from 1998 to 2006.
