NEW YORK, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Actor and comedian Anthony Anderson is to serve as host of the 2013 Soul Train Awards show in Las Vegas this fall, organizers announced.

The ceremony celebrating R&B's finest artists is to take place at the Orleans Arena Nov. 8. It will air Dec. 1 on the cable television networks CENTRIC and BET.

"We are thrilled to bring the Soul Train Awards back to Las Vegas with a star-studded lineup that honors and celebrates icons and break-through artists alike," Paxton Baker, CENTRIC's general manager and executive vice president, said in statement Tuesday. "We rolled the dice and hit the jackpot with Anthony as host and are excited to see what magical moments he will bring to the Orleans Arena during this year's Soul Train Awards."

Hip-hop sensation Kendrick Lamar leads with six Soul Train Award nominations, while Miguel, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Chris Brown and Tamar Braxton all earned five nods apiece.
