MONTREAL, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Production has begun in Montreal on the English-language adaptation of the Quebec police drama series "19-2," Bravo announced Tuesday.

Louis Choquette and Erik Canuel are to direct the 10-episode first season of the new version of the hourlong drama, which is to premiere on the cable network in 2014.

Benz Antoine is to reprise his role as Police Officer Tyler Joseph from the original series, joining previously announced cast members Adrian Holmes and Jared Keeso, who star as Nick Barron and Ben Chartier respectively.

Maxim Roy joins the cast as Nick's estranged wife and fellow district detective, Isabelle Latendresse, and Laurence Leboeuf will play Audrey Pouliot, a uniformed cop who is attracted to her colleague Nick.

"We're excited to have started rolling on the intense, gritty and thought-provoking '19-2,'" Corrie Coe, senior vice president of independent production for Bell Media, said in a statement Tuesday.

"Montreal serves as the perfect urban backdrop to this character-driven series, featuring our brilliant leads Adrian and Jared. We know '19-2' will captivate audiences from coast-to-coast-to-coast when it premieres."
