Cher, Ed Sheeran to be advisers on 'The Voice'

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Singer-songwriters Cher, Ed Sheeran, Ryan Tedder and Miguel are to serve as advisers on the upcoming fifth season of "The Voice" in Los Angeles, NBC said.

Cher is set to work alongside coach Blake Shelton, while Sheeran will join forces with coach Christina Aguilera; Ryan Tedder will work with coach Adam Levine; and Miguel will team with coach CeeLo Green.

"This group of wildly successful musicians will add their distinctive talents to their respective teams," Paul Telegdy, president of late night and alternative programming for NBC Entertainment, said in a statement Monday. "I know Christina, Adam, CeeLo and Blake are very much looking forward to having them come aboard."

Carson Daly will once again serve as host when the singing competition series returns Sept. 23.
