NBC buys Ryan Seacrest Productions' 'Me and My Needs'

HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Ryan Seacrest Productions resurrected the formerly failed sitcom "Me and My Needs" and sold it to NBC, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

The sit-com focuses on a daytime talk show producer who experiences the extremes while looking for love in New York.

A pilot for the single-camera comedy was initially produced in 2001, written by Cynthia Greenburg and Judy Toll, who died in 2002 from melanoma. Executive producers Gene Stein and Nina Wass decided to revive "Me and My Needs" to honor Toll's memory.

Wass will executive produce the new version of the show along with Stein, Seacrest and RSP CEO Adam Sher. Lloyd Braun and Gail Berman, of BermanBraun, will also executive produce. NBC has given a script commitment to the show.
