'Good Wife' Julianna Margulies in legal battle with agent

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Julianna Margulies, now playing a Chicago lawyer in the TV hit "The Good Wife," faces a legal fight in Los Angeles with her former agent over commissions.

Lawyers for Margulies and D/F Management, the firm headed by Steve Dontanville, have a mediation session scheduled for Monday, The Hollywood Reporter says. If they cannot work things out, the dispute is scheduled to go to trial in January.

Margulies sought a six-month delay in the trial, citing her shooting schedule for "The Good Wife." A judge recently agreed to four months, pushing the proceedings back from the original October date.

D/F sued Margulies in 2012, months after she dropped the firm, saying it was owed $420,000. That amount has now been increased into the millions because of money from syndication of her television show and a deal with L'Oreal cosmetics.

Margulies filed a counterclaim. A lawyer for D/F said the firm might sue for malicious prosecution if it wins the case.
