LOS ANGELES, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Australian professional ballroom dancer Kym Johnson says she is taking a break from "Dancing with the Stars."

"I will be taking the next season off from 'DWTS' USA, so that I may accept an amazing work opportunity back home in Australia," Johnson told UsMagazine.com Tuesday. "I am excited, nervous and humbled by this chance and look forward to sharing more about it with you soon."

Johnson, 37, did not disclose any other details about her latest endeavor.

She has been on "DWTS" for 14 seasons, starting in 2006.

"I wish all the dancers and celebrities in Season 17 nothing but love and success," Johnson said, "and hope to see you all back on the dance floor for Season 18."

Season 17 is to begin airing next month.
