Fox may distribute NBC miniseries about Hillary Clinton

NEW YORK, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- NBC's miniseries about Hillary Clinton may be produced by Fox Television Studios, a sister company of conservative-favorite Fox News, a Fox spokesman said.

Leslie Oren, a spokesman for FTVS said NBC is in "the early stages" of discussing a deal with Fox to produce the series, for which a script has not been written.

"There is no deal yet," Oren said.

If a deal is made, FTVS would be the distributor of the as-yet unnamed series internationally, The New York Times reported.

Fox's involvement isn't expected to cause problems with the miniseries, slated to star Diane Lane, mostly because NBC is already facing criticism from Republicans for its own involvement ahead of a possible presidential bid by Clinton in 2016, the Times said.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus warned if NBC Entertainment went forward with airing the miniseries, he would make sure no Republican presidential debates air on the network. Priebus also criticized CNN for its planned documentary on Clinton.

"It's appalling to know executives at major networks like NBC and CNN who have donated to Democrats and Hillary Clinton have taken it upon themselves to be Hillary Clinton's campaign operatives," Priebus in a statement posted on GOP.com. "Their actions to promote Secretary Clinton are disturbing and disappointing. I hope Americans will question the credibility of these networks and that NBC and CNN will reconsider their partisan actions and cancel these political ads masked as unbiased entertainment.
