NEW YORK, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Comedian, author and TV personality Joy Behar ended her 16-year run as co-host of "The View" in New York Friday.

The pre-recorded episode featured visits by Regis Philbin, Meredith Vieira, Alan Alda, Susie Essman, Joan Rivers and Mario Cantone.

Tony Bennett dedicated his song "The Good Life" to the 70-year-old star, while Nathan Lane, Debbie Reynolds, Aziz Ansari, Steve Martin, Carol Burnett and Jane Lynch sent her warm wishes via video.

The show also featured highlights from her many celebrity interviews over the years.

"I love you, Joy. I've loved every moment working with you. Thank you, thank you and thank you and we are really going to miss you," said the show's creator and co-host, Barbara Walters.

Behar and her recently departed co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck announced earlier this year they would be leaving while Walters said she would retire next year.

Co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd plan to return to the show next season, alongside newcomer Jenny McCarthy. No other replacements have yet been announced.
