Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried get engaged on 'Bachelorette'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried got engaged on Monday night's season finale of the U.S. dating competition series "The Bachelorette."

Siegfried beat out fellow finalist Drew Kenney for the opportunity to propose marriage to Hartsock.

"I love you so much," Hartsock told Siegfried, before her suitor dropped to one knee and said: "I want to be your first and I want to be your last. Will you marry me?"

She then accepted the 3.5-carat diamond Neil Lane ring he offered her and gave him the show's signature final rose.
