NEW YORK, July 24 (UPI) -- Jason Sudeikis confirmed on Wednesday's edition of "Late Show with David Letterman" in New York he is no longer a cast member of "Saturday Night Live."

"A person can go on for as long as they want. I mean, Lorne [Michaels] has been kicking butt at it for 33 years out of 38, but for me, I'm definitely done," Sudeikis said.

"I'm gonna be leaving. I'm not coming back in the fall," he said. "It's been fantastic. It's been amazing. ... I'm very, very lucky."

Sudeikis, 37, was a writer on the sketch comedy series for two years before serving as part of the cast for eight years.

He will soon be seen in "We're the Millers" opposite his "Horrible Bosses" co-star Jennifer Aniston.
