CHICAGO, July 13 (UPI) -- Troubled U.S. starlet Lindsay Lohan is to star in a reality television series when she completes her stint in rehab, the Oprah Winfrey Network said Friday.

Lohan, 27, also has agreed to sit down for a wide-ranging interview with Winfrey after she leaves rehab this summer, TVGuide.com reported.

"OWN will air an exclusive interview with Oprah and Lindsay Lohan that will tape and air in August and an eight-part documentary series with Lindsay for 2014," the network said in a statement.

The docu-series will follow Lohan as she tries to make a career comeback, TVGuide.com said.

Lohan was court-ordered to spend 90 days in rehab as part of her conviction for reckless driving and lying to police.

She checked into the Betty Ford Center May 3 but reportedly was unhappy with her treatment there and requested a transfer to another facility, which was approved last month.

The "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" star's once-bright career has been eclipsed in recent years by her battles with drug and alcohol addiction, motor-vehicle offenses and legal woes.

She was most recently seen in a guest role on Charlie Sheen's sitcom, "Anger Management."
