LOS ANGELES, July 12 (UPI) -- "Arrested Development" executive producer Brian Grazer says he is in talks with Netflix to bring the U.S. cult comedy series back for a fifth season.

"We are in conversations with them to do another," Grazer told Bloomberg Television Thursday. "They are interested in doing that."

E! News quoted Grazer's fellow executive producer and the show's creator Mitch Hurwitz as recently saying he is "game" for a fifth season.

However, he cautioned: "I don't have a timeline yet. If there's more, I promise you we will put a date out there."

Netflix Chief Executive Officer Reed Hastings told CNBC in May a fifth season of the series is possible if all the cast members, many of whom also have busy film schedules, can find time to record fresh episodes.

The critically acclaimed but low-rated show about a wealthy dysfunctional family was canceled in 2006 after three seasons but has had a second life on DVD.

Netflix revived the series for a 15-episode fourth season this spring. Most of the show's original cast -- including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat -- returned for the fourth season.
