LOS ANGELES, June 19 (UPI) -- Lionsgate announced actress Selma Blair has left the U.S. sitcom "Anger Management."

"We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to 'Anger Management,' and we wish her the very best," the show's producers said in a statement Tuesday.

Although no reason was given for Blair's departure, the news comes shortly after the actress complained her co-star Charlie Sheen was frequently late and unprofessional on the set, Deadline.com said.

Sheen, an executive producer on the show, refused to go to work this week if Blair was there.

He also sent the actress a profanity-laced text message firing her from the sitcom where she played his character's therapist and love interest, the entertainment news website said.

The role is not expected to be recast and Blair is being paid per her contract, Deadline.com said.
