LAS VEGAS, June 16 (UPI) -- Miss Connecticut Erin Brady was crowned Miss USA in Las Vegas Sunday night.

Miss Alabama Mary Margaret McCord was the runner-up and Miss Illinois Stacie Juris came in third.

Giuliana Rancic and Nick Jonas served as co-hosts of the event at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

Brady, 25, is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a degree in finance and a minor in criminal justice. She is a financial accountant for Prudential Retirement in Hartford.

"Pageantry launches women forward into successful careers in business, politics, and entertainment," Brady is quoted as saying in her biography on the Miss USA website. "Building confidence, poise, interview skills, and public speaking skills, are just a sampling of the benefits of the modern pageant world."
