Roseanne Barr to guest star on 'Ninja Turtles' finale

LOS ANGELES, June 12 (UPI) -- Roseanne Barr is to lend her distinctive voice to a character on the season finale of the U.S. animated TV series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," EW.com said.

The comedian and actress will voice the character of Kraang Prime in the season finale, which will air this summer on the cable network Nick. The exact broadcast date has not been announced.

EW.com described Barr's role as that of a leader from Dimension X, a highly intelligent creature with multiple eyes and purple skin.

The latest incarnation of the animated series based on the characters started airing last year. The first animated series ran from 1987 to 1996 and the second rand from 2003 to 2009.

The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise includes films, toys and comic books.
