'Y&R' actress Julia Pace Mitchell gives birth to a son

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio, June 11 (UPI) -- Julia Pace Mitchell's publicist says the former "Young and the Restless" star has given birth to her first child, a son, in Middletown, Ohio.

The baby was born May 22, but his birth wasn't announced until Tuesday.

"Being new parents has brought us closer together. It's all about teamwork," the 27-year-old actress told People.com. "Little Stephen is awesome. Being a mom is the greatest role I will ever play."

Pace Mitchell married Stephen L. Hightower in 2011.
