Ludwig and Roache join 'Vikings' in Season 2

NEW YORK, June 11 (UPI) -- History says Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig and British TV star Linus Roache have joined the cast of its drama series "Vikings."

Known for his work in "The Hunger Games," Ludwig will play Bjorn, "the intelligent and bold warrior son of Ragnar Lothbrok," in "Vikings."

"Law & Order" veteran Roache will play Ecbert, King of Wessex, a "man full of strength, knowledge and undisguised ambition," the cable network said in a news release Tuesday.

The show's 10-episode second season is to begin production this summer. The program is slated to return in 2014.

Returning cast members include Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, George Blagden, Donal Logue and Jessalyn Gilsig.
