LOS ANGELES, June 5 (UPI) -- About 5.2 million viewers tuned in for this week's blood-soaked episode of HBO's "Game of Thrones," the New York Post reported.

Sunday's Season 3 penultimate episode was officially titled "The Rains of Castamere," but fans of the books on which the medieval fantasy show is based refer to the notorious massacre that takes place as "The Red Wedding."

Main characters Robb Stark, his mother Catelyn and his pregnant wife Talisa, as well as all of his soldiers, were brutally killed in Sunday's episode.

A YouTube compilation video of various taped fan reactions to the slaughter was viewed more than 4.6 million times by Wednesday morning.

The show's Season 3 finale is to air Sunday night.
