SYDNEY, June 3 (UPI) -- The 50th anniversary of the British television show "Doctor Who" was marked with a special presentation at Australia's Vivid Sydney festival during the weekend.

Saturday night's program included a 3D-mapped projection tribute to the science-fiction series, which was screened on the grand facade of Customs House at Circular Quay, as well as a cinema screening of two episodes from Season 7 of the show.

"It's very exciting to be bringing 'Doctor Who' fans this spectacular projection on Customs House. I'm sure people of all ages will be enthralled as The Doctor tackles his foes. Vivid Sydney has expanded significantly this year, and this collaboration is a fantastic example of how we are bringing more exciting experiences to Vivid festival-goers," Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase, said in a statement.

Destination NSW is the owner and organizer of the festival.
