NAPLES, Fla., May 21 (UPI) -- The 44-year-old daughter of broadcast journalist Barbara Walters has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, Florida police said.

TMZ reported Jacqueline Walters Danforth was with a male companion when police pulled up to her sport utility vehicle, which was stopped on a highway in Naples with no lights on early Sunday, and determined they were intoxicated.

Police said when they started to place handcuffs on the man, Danforth became angry, grabbed at one officer and "began shouting."

"I was afraid that the suspect may run into traffic on the highway, so she was taken to the ground due to her unpredictable behavior, then secured in handcuffs," the arresting officer wrote in his report.

The police report stated her blood-alcohol level tested at 0.218, or more than twice the legal limit.

TMZ said she was released on $1,000 bond several hours after she was arrested.
