BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., May 2 (UPI) -- Briton David Slade, who directed "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," has agreed to direct the psychological thriller film "The Widow," The Hollywood Reporter said.

The film, financed by Vendome Pictures of Beverly Hills, Calif., centers on a young woman who befriends a lonely widow, only to discover their encounter was not mere coincidence.

The project is seeking appropriate actresses, the Reporter said.

Slade, 44, is the executive producer of NBC-TV's midseason thriller "Hannibal," directing multiple episodes, as well as the pilot.

The TV series is based on characters and elements appearing in the novel "Red Dragon" by Thomas Harris and focuses on the budding relationship between FBI Special Investigator Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a forensic psychiatrist destined to become Graham's most cunning enemy.
