NBC cancels 'Ready for Love'

April 20, 2013 at 3:05 PM

HOLLYWOOD, April 20 (UPI) -- NBC announced it has canceled "Ready for Love," a dating reality television show produced by Eva Longoria, due to poor ratings.

"Ready for Love" premiered April 10 with comparatively strong ratings, but viewership fell off substantially after that, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

NBC is canceling the show after two airings and replacing it in the 10 p.m. Tuesday slot with "Grimm."

The slot has been problematic for NBC after "Parenthood" concluded in February, The Hollywood Reporter said. Broadway-themed drama "Smash" took over the slot and quickly dwindled.

"Smash" was moved to Saturdays and is not likely to return for a third season, the report said.
