April 18, 2013 at 12:13 PM

NEW YORK, April 18 (UPI) -- Dick Van Dyke's publicist said the actor-comedian has canceled a public appearance in New York next week because he is suffering from a neurological disorder.

The star of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "Mary Poppins" was to be presented with the 92nd Street Y's first Lifetime Achievement Award for Bettering Humanity through Comedy April 26.

However, his representative told TV's "Entertainment Tonight" he must skip the Manhattan event because of "fatigue and lack of sleep resulting from symptoms of a yet-to-be diagnosed neurological disorder."

The publicist told "ET" Van Dyke is resting at his home in Malibu, Calif.
